National Association of Women Artists
NYAEA Archives (1997)

The National Association of Women Artists, Inc. (N.A.W.A.) is a not-for-profit, non-political, member-supported organization of women in the fine arts, founded in 1889, whose primary purpose is to encourage and promote the creative output of women artists. By seeking exhibition opportunities for its members in the visual arts, N.A.W.A. fosters awareness of the contributions of women artists to the ongoing history of American art.
